Top 10 U.S. Destinations For 2021, According to TripAdvisor

The No. 1 destination in the U.S.? New York City.

This is according to Tripadvisor, which released its most popular destinations in the United States as part of its Traveler’s Choice Best of the Best awards.

Since 2002, Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best awards have become the highest honor Tripadvisor bestows.

The awards are based on millions of reviews and opinions from travelers around the world, reflecting “the best of the best” for service, quality and customer satisfaction, from hotels and accommodations to destinations, attractions, restaurants and experiences.

Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best award winners are selected annually based on feedback from millions of Tripadvisor members.

Check out the top 10 destinations in the U.S., according to TripAdvisor.

  1. New York City, New York
  2. Maui, Hawaii
  3. Las Vegas, Nevada
  4. New Orleans, Louisiana
  5. Key West, Florida
  6. Oahu, Hawaii
  7. Island of Hawaii, Hawaii
  8. San Diego, California
  9. Savannah, Georgia
  10. Kauai, Hawaii

It’s interesting to note that four of the Hawaii islands ranked in the top 10 U.S. destinations for 2021.

Key West beat out all-time class Florida destinations like Miami and Orlando, Florida.

Savannah, Georgia, a sleepy coastal town in Georgia, beat out all-time Southern classic Charleston, South Carolina.

No cities in the mid-west or central region made the top 10 list.

Las Vegas, Nevada was the only city on the top 10 U.S. destinations list that’s not surrounded or near a body of water (including rivers).
