I’m having a staycation at Refinery Hotel in Midtown

I checked into Refinery Hotel in Midtown, New York City. Why? The past few weeks have been insane, so I needed a staycation.

Honestly, I’ve been working 14 hour days, 7 days a week, for the past 6 weeks (I feel like everyone I know has been under the gun). In fact, I can barely read the text here (everything is so blurry from computer eye strain!), and I’m nowhere near that meditative state I reached when I was in India.

Refinery Hotel is a great staycation hotel. I remember this 197-room boutique opening in 2013, and I’m so happy the hotel is thriving (boutique hotels either make it or break it in NYC). It has a rooftop lounge, great Parker & Quinn restaurant and it’s just two blocks away from Bryant Park (for Ruby).

Aside from being intimate yet thriving at the same time, Refinery is also clad with original, contemporary art throughout the property, from the lobby and hallways to the guest room. I love how this gives the hotel character.

Anyway, Ruby is excited for her suite (she also saw her first Christmas tree, which is in the room for anyone that books the winter package), and I’m excited to order in-room dining.

I’ll write a proper hotel review soon, so look out for it!
