Nouhaus Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair

Sixty-two percent of Americans now work from home due to Covid-19. Since March, many workers found it difficult to adjust (especially if they had kids or a small space). While I’ve worked from home essentially my entire career and offer plenty of advice on how to make it work for you, I invested in some great work from home tech products and accessories that made my life easier.

These 4 great work from home tech products range from computer accessories to noise canceling earbuds. They have truly made a difference in my day to day! Take a look at these products that can improve your work day.

Nomad Mouse Pad

Ever since I got a desktop computer, I’ve loved adding cool accessories, like a smart lamp and even a brand new desk. I wanted to get something right on the desk for my keyboard, and Nomad Goods offers leather mousepads that are pretty amazing.

Now, I don’t actually use a mouse. I have an Apple Magic trackpad. However, I put my Apple Bluetooth keyboard on top of the mouse pad, and it’s been amazing for protecting the keyboard but also making the desk area look great.

The mousepad is made out of Horween leather and a no-slip micro-textured rubber base. I love everything from the look, the texture, and the feel, and the mousepad is definitely something that makes all the little tech around my desk look better.

Nomad also offers great travel accessories, like passport wallets (which actually introduced me to Nomad Goods), chargers and base stations.

Ekster Aluminum Wallet Cardholder

I gave up on bulky wallets years ago. I need to sit without a bump on my right cheek. And I also need a wallet that’s sleek and convenient when I get up often to walk my dog and stop by the pet store or sit in the park or grab a drink at Walgreens, which is why I got Ekster Aluminum Cardholder.

Ekster Aluminum Wallet Cardholder is the quickest and slimmest wallet out there, according to the brand, and I have to agree. I spent some time researching, and nothing came as close as this. It has a maximum capacity of 12 cards (I only keep 3 important ones to keep it slim), and the design of the wallet is .29”… that’s super slim! It has that easy store and access catch button I love, where your cards pop out with one click.

Listen. I use Ekster wallet cardholder everywhere. It’s awesome because there’s no bulging in my back pocket, and every time I whip the wallet out on dates, my suitors are impressed. I used to be so hung up on having a cool, name-brand wallet, but this wallet is just too good to pass up.

The coolest feature? The wallet is also made of spade-grade 6061-T6 aluminum. That’s like James Bond meets Apple MacBook. Honestly, I thought it was strange to have a wallet made out of aluminum and not cloth or leather, but it is 2020. The wallet just feels right. I also love how cool and slick it feels in my hand, and it’s barely noticeable in my pocket, but the real value: this is going to last me a long time.

The wallet is RFID protected, meaning it fends off data skimmers.

You can still get the leather wallet if you’re not ready to upgrade to aluminum.

Nouhaus Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair

Nouhaus Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair (my dog loves sitting on the desk!)

I know this story is about tech, but honestly, I had to squeeze in Nouhaus Ergo3D Ergonomic Office Chair.

You won’t find a better test subject than me to determine the quality of an office chair. I broke my back many years ago, and I have back issues (including 2 herniated discs), so I have to be extremely careful about how I sit, where I sit and how long I sit. This requires me having an office chair that I can rely on and find comfort in since I’m working from home regular office hours.

When my last office chair just stopped giving me the comfort I needed, I spent at least 10 hours (YES, ten hours) searching for the best office chairs that would be ergonomic, have lumbar support, have nearly 5 star rating on review sites, recommended by chair experts and have features that allow all-day comfort. I ended up buying the Nouhaus Ergo3D office chair.

The Nouhaus ergonomic office chair has a 4D adjustable armrest and lumbar system, ElastoMesh, 135 degree back tilt, smooth HydraLift, dual castors (and a set of hardwood floor rollerblade castors). It’s very future forward with comfort that’s lasting.

This type of chair is not only good for people at their computers working remotely all day, but also gamers, bloggers, and whoever needs a comfortable seat. The mesh headrest adjusts up and down while the 4D Adjust Arms go forwards, back, up, down, side to side, and rotate for the best fit to your body. The 3D lumbar support is a huge relief, and it basically hugs your back, while the seat glides up and down.

The breathable ElastoMesh provides optimal airflow to avoid sweating and sticking. I love it, because you will sweat the longer you sit in a chair.

I’m 5’8″ and it’s the perfect height, and I can definitely see it working for anyone up to 6’2″.

I got Nouhaus Ergo3D office chair in black (there are other color options, but I would have to wait longer for those as black was readily available to ship). It took maybe 15 minutes to set up, and once I sat in it at my desk, I felt a huge world of difference.

The lumbar support is amazing (I no longer have to squish a pillow back there and get my back hot), the arm rests are adjustable, the headrest is great for me to continue to work while having my back straight (rather than hunching over). The chair even came with extra rollerblade wheels, which I didn’t put on, but I can see how someone would have fun with these.

The most important factor: it is comfortable. I still get up about every hour and I recommend anyone sitting for long periods of time to do the same. The chair has a strong base and it’s stable, and there is no noise when you swivel. Honestly, having a comfortable chair makes a big impact on your posture and how you work in general, so I recommend upgrading to a chair.

The other great thing is that it was only $300 (compared to similar chairs I found in the $1000 range). I know that $300 is still a splurge, but your back and health and posture is worth it. Also, I should mention I’m 5’ 7” and it was a good fit for me, and I can see it being great for taller people too since the seat is adjustable to go up and down.

Pamu Quiet Bluetooth Earbuds

If you read my story on the best wireless headphones for 2020, you’ll know I love Pamu Slide. The in-ear True Wireless headphones has excellent sound quality for audio and phone calls, and the Pamu Quiet Bluetooth earbuds take it to the next level. First, it’s the world first dual chip ANC earbuds, meaning the earbuds have active noise canceling that is customizable via app. The earbuds fit snug and comfortably and they feel even more cozy than the True Wirless headphones.

They can play up to 3.5 hours, reduce noise up to 40dB and have a cool little carry case charger (that reminds me of one of those old fashion watches with a cover). I like to wear these when I’m working. I leave my windows open for fresh air, and here in Brooklyn, there has been construction literally on every corner of my block. Pamu Quiet blocks out all the noise. I imagine these would be great if you have a lot of people living in your home.

Honestly, these earbuds are the future, and every brand is making them. Pamu is just really good.
